Our Data Privacy & Cybersecurity team consists of over 50 attorneys who advise on cyber insurance, lead regulatory responses to claimed privacy breaches, defend privacy litigation, and handle data breach analysis/notification and “Big Data” issues. The team has also represented clients with related problems such as data center outages and logic bombs. Team members have considerable experience with state and federal laws and work daily with clients to address the myriad regulatory enforcement regimes that govern consumer privacy and data protection. Jason Gonzalez, who leverages his experience as a prosecutor to represent entities and individuals under agency investigation for all kinds of privacy issues, leads that team.
That team works closely with our Class Actions & Aggregate Litigation team, led by Dan Deane and Christopher Mason, which focuses on defending consumer class actions and privacy claims arising from federal statutes/regulations and state consumer protection laws in all 50 states. Through our representations, we have also worked with major insurers.
