Security Compass was founded in 2004 by Nish Bhalla and began with a team of experienced penetration testers and security professionals. This expertise led to clients seeking advice on how to code securely so that they could reduce organizational risk. It was because of these clients that SD Elements, a first-of-its-kind security platform, was created.

Since then, Security Compass has evolved to become a software security company with over 200 employees that offers professional advisory services, training, and SD Elements, with 4 offices spanning from Toronto to San Francisco to India. SD Elements has also evolved to become an industry-leading solution that eliminates security vulnerabilities in mission-critical applications so that regulatory and compliance standards are easily met.
